Ira Sylvester

Wildly woke and weirdly funny.
Ira Sylvester is a Copenhagen-based, globe-trotting humour virtuoso hailing from the heart of London. Resident MC of two standout comedy nights: HardRock Café Copenhagen (since 2026) Proud Mary Monday Mic (since 2025) and No Stress Comedy (since 2022). He was nominated for BBC New Comedian of the Year in 2023, was a finalist of The West End New Act Competition in 2025, and performed a sold-out show at Vault festival. He is a stand-up comic who blends philosophical punchlines and brazenly daft humour into something sharp and honest. Equal parts sardonic and self-assured, he is viewed fondly by his loved ones as an endearing tosser. Ira is an enemy of the lazy jibe; taking selfies in the mirror he holds up to others.
His style is deep, dark, and ridiculous, like getting into a violent altercation with your inner-child. A wicked coalition between introspection, observations, a steadily declining mental health, and unbridled rage for loud chewing.
Straddling the edge of traumedy, while manifesting a desire to become a pirate, he explores sexual tension, racial tension, and an inability to distinguish the two. Ira delivers stories from international misadventures and times spent shrieking into the void as he unpacks the modern world one absurd truth at a time.
